Easy Grader vs Ez Grader — What's the Difference?

There is no functional difference. "Easy Grader" and "Ez Grader" are two names people use to search for the same tool — a grading scale calculator that shows what grade corresponds to each number of wrong answers on a test.

The original physical tool was branded "Ez Grader" and has been used in classrooms since the 1930s. Over time, "Easy Grader" became an equally common search term for the same concept. Both our Ez Grader and this Easy Grader page produce identical results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Easy Grader.

What is an Easy Grader?

An Easy Grader is a tool that generates a complete grading scale for any test or quiz based on the total number of questions. Teachers use it to quickly find what percentage and letter grade corresponds to each number of wrong answers, without doing division manually for every paper.

Is Easy Grader the same as Ez Grader?

"Easy Grader" and "Ez Grader" are two names for the same concept — a grading wheel or grading scale calculator. Both search terms are commonly used online to find this type of tool. Our Ez Grader and Easy Grader pages work identically.

How do I calculate a grade percentage from wrong answers?

Divide the number of correct answers by the total questions, then multiply by 100. Example: 20-question test, 3 wrong — (20 - 3) ÷ 20 × 100 = 85%. This Easy Grader calculates every possible score automatically when you enter the total question count.

Can I use this for any number of questions?

Yes. This Easy Grader supports tests from 1 to 200 questions, covering everything from short 5-question quizzes to 200-question standardised tests.

What grading scale does this use?

This tool uses the standard US letter grade scale: A (90–100%), B (80–89%), C (70–79%), D (60–69%), F (below 60%). The scale includes plus and minus grades (e.g. A+, A, A−) for more precise grade boundaries.

What if my test uses partial credit or different point values?

This Easy Grader assumes all questions are worth equal points with no partial credit. For tests with varying question values or partial credit scoring, use the Grade Calculator — enter each question or section separately with its own point value.
